Sprinklers vs Watermist

This seminar aims to address the growing interest in watermist being used as a fire fighting agent and in particular, as a replacement for traditional sprinkler ‘spray type’ systems. Some basis knowledge of fixed firefighting systems is assumed. The seminar looks at the different categories of fire and the suitability of sprinklers, mist systems and other firefighting agents for each category. Advantages and disadvantages of mist systems are put forward and applications are suggested. Differences between sprinklers and watermist are discussed including droplet size, water supplies, head spacing and standards.
