LiveTap - Practical Training
Livetap is an innovative solution from Project Fire that allows sprinkler system modifications to be carried out while pipework remains pressurised, ensuring continuous protection throughout the work. This method enables engineers to complete modifications without shutting down the sprinkler system, reducing disruption while maintaining safety at all times.
Livetap offers significant advantages over traditional methods. It saves time on-site, eliminates water wastage, and minimises the need for permissions and administrative paperwork. Most importantly, sprinkler protection remains fully operational during works, ensuring that both life safety and commercial property protection are maintained throughout the modification process.
A wide range of Livetap fittings is available to suit most project requirements, including drains, vents, pipework extensions with new sprinkler heads, and Zonecheck Live. This flexibility allows the system to be used across a variety of sprinkler modification and maintenance tasks.
Livetap is a fully approved system, certified by LPCB, VdS, FM, and UL. To ensure the technology is used safely and correctly, all operatives must complete approved training and follow the recommended procedures. A dedicated toolkit, including the Livetap drill and required fittings, must be purchased or hired. Equipment is only supplied to trained individuals or companies.
Training is provided free of charge at Project Fire’s headquarters in Staffordshire and is delivered over one full day. The course begins with theory and instruction before moving on to a live demonstration and practical use in dedicated training areas. The day concludes with both a practical and theory assessment to ensure engineers are confident and competent in using the system on-site.
Certification is valid for three years, after which a refresher session is recommended to maintain competency and compliance with best practice.
