Boost your skills at the Project Fire Academy
This October, we had the pleasure of hosting six talented Public Health Engineers from Arup Consultants at the Project Fire Academy for an immersive and hands-on three-day course. The group was enthusiastic, engaged, and brought a wealth of knowledge to the table, making the experience even more rewarding for everyone involved.
The course agenda was packed with practical sessions and detailed discussions, covering everything from the basics of fire sprinkler systems to advanced design and installation techniques.
The course kicked off with an introduction to Sprinkler Systems and Zonecheck technology, followed by hands-on workshops where participants built their own Zonecheck units and worked on pipe fitting tasks. Day one also featured a session led by Afolabi Akinsanya (Rapidrop) to cover sprinkler heads and demonstrate their flexible sprinkler pipework. After a productive day, everyone enjoyed some downtime at Alton Towers Scarefest.
Day two delved into Industrial and Commercial Sprinkler Systems, with in-depth design sessions and more practical work on Zonecheck Addressable, rounded off with a session on Residential Sprinkler Systems and a team dinner. On the final day, we explored sprinkler maintenance and service, including a live demo of the Livetap system and an insightful session led by Rob Speakman (SPP Fire Pumps) on how to handle high rise building projects.

It was an action-packed few days, filled with invaluable insights, collaboration, and practical skills development.
